Empowering People with Disabilities through Wheelchair

As part of its commitment to delivering comprehensive healthcare services and promoting equity in access to support, Egypt Without Disease Foundation launched the “Move & Rejoice” initiative to provide manual wheelchairs to individuals with disabilities.

The initiative aims to enhance independence, improve quality of life, and address mobility challenges that may hinder social inclusion.

Wheelchair Distribution and Customization

  • Accurate measurement and customization of each wheelchair for the recipient
  • Preparation according to the type of disability and daily usage needs
  • Scheduling delivery and testing prior to handover
  • Provision of maintenance and spare parts services by specialized technicians to ensure long-term usability

Application and Assessment Process

The foundation applies a structured evaluation framework to ensure that assistance reaches the most in need individuals

Administrative Assessment

Applications are reviewed in coordination with relevant authorities at the Ministry of Social Solidarity to confirm eligibility

Medical Assessment

Approved applicants undergo a medical evaluation conducted by specialized physiotherapists to determine the most appropriate wheelchair according to each individual’s health condition and mobility requirements

Social Assessment

A social assessment evaluates the applicant’s economic and social circumstances, ensuring support is allocated transparently and equitably
